Sinabi ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na nagkaroon na naman sila ng engkwentro sa Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) habang nagpapatrolya sa karagatang nakapalibot sa Bajo de Masinloc o Scarborough Shoal nitong Miyerkoles.
Nagpaputok ng water cannon ang Chinese vessels at hinarang ang landas ng kanilang sasakyang pandagat, ayon kay PCG Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriella.
Kasama ng PCG ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources para sa isang routine maritime patrol.
“The PCG and BFAR reaffirm their commitment to protecting the rights and safety of our fishermen within our maritime jurisdiction. We will continue to be vigilant in safeguarding our national interests in the West Philippine Sea,” ayon kay Tariella.
